The Senate held a hearing in Sydney today relating to the Cash Restrictions Bill.
There were a good number of Australians in the audience.
Economist John Adams made a powerful presentation, linking the proposed cash ban with civil liberties, monetary policy and negative interest rates.
I listened to the podcast.
The elected senators demonstrated a disturbing level of incoherence in their questioning.
Is this typical of their performance generally?
Hard to know – because no sane person would voluntarily donate their time to do the research on the senators if this is their normal standard.
These people actually determine the direction of our country so we clearly need to pay more attention.
