Auction Results 25 August 2018

Domain has released the latest preliminary auction results for today.

Striking the final results last week settled BELOW 50% nationally, on much lower volumes than a year ago and higher withdrawals. More evidence of the slowing market.

Brisbane listed 93 auctions, reported 48, withdrawn 13 and cleared 33% (on Domain’s basis).

Adelaide listed 62 auctions, reported 27, withdrawn 3 and cleared 70% (on Domain’s basis).

Canberra listed 49, reported 38, withdrawn 1 and cleared 85% (on Domain’s basis).

Auction Results 18 August 2018

Domain has released their preliminary auction results for today.  Our initial take is that momentum in Melbourne is wilting fast, with results lower than Sydney, reversal of trends in recent months. That said ever larger volumes appear to be withdrawn prior to auction, a significant tell-tale sign.

Adelaide listed 54, reported 30 auctions and sold 23. 4 were withdrawn and Domain reported a clearance rate of 68%.

Brisbane listed 94, reported 50 auctions and sold 35. 6 were withdrawn and Domain reported a clearance rate of 63%.

Canberra listed 504, reported 47 auctions and sold 22. 0 were withdrawn and Domain reported a clearance rate of 47%.

Auction Results 11 August 2018

Domain released their preliminary results from today.  The numbers are still down on last year, though the listing volume appears slightly higher this week.  Last week ended up at below 50% nationally, and we suspect the final results this week will be pretty similar. We also note Melbourne seems to be lower than Sydney (as expected as Melbourne trends are running about 6 months behind Sydney).

Adelaide listed 48, and reported 30 sales, with 23 sold, and 1 withdrawn, giving a Domain clearance of 74%.

Brisbane listed 76, reported 50 and sold 22 with 2 withdrawn giving a Domain clearance rate of 42%.

Canberra listed 26 and reported 20 with 14 sold and 3 withdrawn giving a Domain 61% clearance.

Auction Results 04 August 2018

More weakness in the results.  Final clearance rates will fall further as usual. Way down on last year.

Sydney listed 378 auctions, reported 223, sold 159, 58 were withdrawn giving a Domain clearance rate of 56.6%. 42.1% of those listed were sold.

Melbourne listed 567 auctions, reported 444 of which 256 were sold. 26 were withdrawn. Domain clearance rate was reported as 54.5%.  45.1% of those listed were sold.

Brisbane listed 92 auctions, reported 61, sold 22, 7 were withdrawn giving a Domain clearance rate of 32%. 23.9% of those listed were sold.

Adelaide listed 43 auctions, reported 30, sold 21, 4 were withdrawn giving a Domain clearance of 62%.  48.8% of those listed were sold.

Canberra listed 35 auctions, reported 33, sold 23 giving a Domain clearance  of 70%.  65.7% of those listed sold.

Auction Results 28th July 2018

More evidence of the slowing market in the latest preliminary results from Domain.

For some reason, I did not get the normal alert from them, but went to their source page to calculate the following:

I calculated the true result comparing those sold with those listed.

[UPDATE] The Domain email finally came though on Monday:

The funny numbers continue. See my recent video on the subject.

Auction Results 14 Jul 2018

Another weak result from Domain as the preliminary auction clearance results are in.

Brisbane listed 57, and 13 were sold. Domain reported a clearance of 37%. Adelaide listed 43, and sold 18, reporting a clearance rate of 56%.  Canberra listed 40 and sold 24 reporting a clearance rate of 67%.

Volumes are down as well, perhaps thanks to the school holidays?  The final clearance rates will settle lower as normal.

Auction Results Continue To Weaken

The preliminary data from Domain is out, and the trends continue lower, with a final rate last week below 50% nationally and continued weakness this time around. Many properties are being withdrawn.

In Sydney, of the 442 listed, 84 were withdrawn, and 179 sold. In Melbourne, 526 were listed, 29 withdrawn and 236 sold. Last year at this time, clearance rates were more than 10% higher, on larger volumes.

Brisbane listed 57, 6 were withdrawn and 17 Sold. Adelaide listed 43, withdrew 1 and sold 13. Canberra listed 47, sold 30 and 3 were withdrawn.
