This is the latest in my series of “tin-foil” discussions with my friend George, this time looking at the media. We consider who sets the agenda, whether “truth” is objective, and how we tell.
A warning, some of George’s view are quite different from those in the MSM, but as I say, diversity of voice is important.
Thanks to George for editing the show.

I am joined by my friend George for my philosophical Sunday show, as we discuss the nether regions of the economy, politics, and current social dynamics. Where are we headed, and who (if anyone) is pulling the strings? George has some strong views, some of which are at odds with some of mine, though there are areas where we are in heated agreement.
It is important to explore different stories. And thanks to George for helping out with the recording and editing.
This is the latest in our “Rabbit Hole” series. The others are:

We have been trained to accept QR code check-ins, and now vaccine passports are coming. But this is morphing more into a dystopian 1984 future. So for philosophical Sunday we look at this issue, in the light of China’s trajectory of control, and recent attempts by Police to access data for normal criminal investigations, not directly connected with the current emergency.

Steve Keen, the controversial economist, and I caught up for another discussion on debt, why big debt is a problem, what could be done and more broadly what this says about our leaders and economists in general. And then we turn to the greatest moral challenge of our time!

Are We Cooked Yet? With Professor Steve Keen [Podcast]
I caught up with best selling author Mark Victor Hansen an American inspirational and motivational speaker, trainer and author. He is best known as the founder and co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series.
We explored the concept of persistence – and how this is needed to translate an aspiration to reality. Understanding the mind is key. We got quite philosophical!
“Martin is a deep thinker and I really enjoyed this conversation. In this episode, we talk about the Australian & New Zealand Economies, the local investment mindset, and the overall financial markets there. In this conversation, we get quite philosophical on where the world is now as a result of COVID and where we could be going.
Absolutely fascinating and worth thinking about”.

I caught up with my “Tin Foil Hat” friend George, and we went deep into the financial system, questioned the role of Central Banks, and highlighted that people are mere cash-flows – you are the product. And is the financial system likely to melt down, just like a runaway nuclear reactor – the China Syndrome?
This is one is an occasional series of “Down The Rabbit Hole” discussions.
Special thanks to George for recording his end of the discussion.
We explain how the bond markets work, as requested by a number of our followers.
The Bond Market is a critical element of the global financial system.
As of August 2020, The International Capital Markets Association ICMA estimates that the overall size of the global bond markets in terms of USD equivalent notional outstanding, is approximately $128.3tn.

It is important to understand the relationship between global trade, vaccine deployment, border management and property prices, as its all connected. As John Donne famously said “No Man Is An Island”. It is a pity many of the commentators have forgotten this.
So in our Philosophical Sunday post, we join the dots….
